NagoyaStation
Trains, buses and the underground streets — where to go before you move.
Is Nagoya Station wheelchair accessible? Yes — step-free routes, elevators and accessible toilets exist across JR, Shinkansen, Meitetsu, Kintetsu, the subway and the Aonami Line, though the easiest route depends on which operator and exit you use. This guide is also useful for wheelchair users, families with strollers, travelers with large luggage, and anyone who prefers step-free routes through Japan’s busiest transfer hub.
Traveling with luggage or a stroller? Elevators connect every platform to street level across JR, Shinkansen, Meitetsu, Kintetsu, the subway and the Aonami Line, and a taxi rank is available near the Kintetsu gate.
Wheelchair-accessible taxi? Booking an accessible vehicle in advance is recommended if you need to remain seated in your wheelchair — some operators require booking by phone rather than through a taxi app. See the Taxi section below.
Looking for an accessible toilet? See the full Nagoya Station toilet guide for every location across JR, Shinkansen, Meitetsu, Kintetsu, the subway, the Aonami Line and the underground malls.

Whole-station map, every operator — not specific to one line.
1F / Street level · pinch, scroll-wheel, or the buttons to zoom · drag to pan · double-tap to reset
Whole-station schematic, generated from published station maps and cross-checked against JR Central’s own platform-by-platform elevator/escalator tables (confirmed: platform 12–13 has no escalator at all; platform 2’s escalator runs up only). Route names are colour-coded to the line they belong to; building names (JR Takashimaya, JR Gate Tower, Meitetsu Building, etc.) are not lines and are left uncoloured. Not an on-site survey — gate positions and passage lengths are schematic.
